Clinical Research Nurse
Who can become a clinical research nurse?
Many Clinical Research Organizations are looking for experienced nurses with solid professional knowledge of clinical care (often of critically-ill patients if the study requires it), anatomy, physiology, pathology and pharmacology.
Minimum requirements include a degree or diploma in professional nursing, active and current registration and some CROs also require some experience in general nursing.
Nurses who have already chosen a field of specialization like surgery or critical care are in demand to join research teams for specific studies in their fields of expertise.
In general it is a job that calls for a highly organized personality, good team players, good communicators and professionals with excellent bedside manners.
Clinical Research Organizations usually offer nurses further training like courses in completing the Intermediate Life Support (ILS) certificate
